2019 – 2020
Our goal is to provide an early childhood program of excellence that provides great kindergarten readiness while meeting the needs of the families whom we serve. We also belong to the Better Beginnings program.
Our early childhood program is governed by the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. (DCCECE). A licensing specialist visits and reviews the center quarterly. Compliance forms are available for review upon written request.
Enrollment shall be granted without discrimination in regard to race, nationality, ethnic origin, creed, political belief or sex. Enrollment shall be granted and maintained provided the center can meet the needs of the child. The center reserves the right to dismiss a member for reasons of non-cooperation, delinquency in payment of fees, or inability of the child or parent to adjust to center programs.
Students must be two and a half years of age (30 months) and fully potty trained, to be enrolled in our Three Year Old program. Students must be four years of age by August 1, 2019, to be enrolled in our Four Year Old program.
Our early childhood program follows 1st Lutheran School calendar from August through May. Classes do not take place during the holiday periods scheduled by the school.
- Morning Preschool Program will run from 8:00 am to 11:00 am Monday – Friday. Children will spend time learning letters and sounds, counting, and other important skills and practices that will prepare them for success in kindergarten and beyond. Each class will have a licensed teacher and appropriate assistance from teacher aides.
- School Day Program will run from 8:00 am – 3:10 pm daily. Children will have preschool class until 11:00 a.m., lunch, rest time and other fun learning experiences. Various teachers and aides will collaborate to make this a great program.
- Full Day Program provides continued care until 5:30 pm will be available for all families until 5:30 pm. We also provide an early drop off time, at no additional charge, for all families beginning at 7:30 am.
The strength of our program lies within our staff. Staff requirements exceed the Arkansas Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education standards. Staff members are selected carefully on the basis of their training in child development, previous experience, their patience, warmth and sensitivity in dealing with children. All staff members have completed a hiring process that includes an interview, background checks, and education verifications. Before permanent hiring is allowed, all employees must be cleared by the Arkansas Department of Human Services DCCECE Child Maltreatment Central Registry. New employees are allowed to work on a probationary status while their clearance information is being processed. A staff member who is trained in first aid and CPR is always present. Because professional growth is required, all staff members complete a minimum of 15 hours training in the field each year.
Tuition payments must be made through the Simply Giving Program. The Simply Giving® Program endorsed by Thrivent Financial Bank is a program operated by Vanco Services, LLC that enables educational institutions to receive tuition payments through electronic funds transfer (EFT).
1st Lutheran School has chosen the Simply Giving® Program as our means of collecting tuition payments for several reasons. Electronic funds transfer is convenient, reliable and safe—safer than writing a check, since it can’t be lost or stolen, plus there is NO COST for you to participate in the program.
Early childhood tuition is calculated on a yearly basis. For your convenience the tuition is divided into 10 monthly installments. The first installment is paid in August and the last installment is collected in May.
