Week: October 9-13

We are in our FINAL week of the first quarter of school! Yay! I’m so excited about my student’s progress this first 9 weeks.  Let’s finish strong!  I have a couple of students who are still working to get their A.R. points for this quarter and a couple who are working to reach personal reading goals.  We CAN do it!!! 

I was completed amazed by the State Projects the students turned in last week! Wow! Parents, thanks so much for helping your child succeed with this project.  Overall they seemed to have enjoyed the project and learned a lot.  We enjoyed learning about their states last week. 

Vocabulary: Esperanza Rising Vocabulary using context clues: p.4-57 this week from scythe-resentfully in the packet. We will NOT have a vocabulary test this week.

Spelling: Unit 9: final schwa +n and +r p. 64-69 TEST Thursday

Reading: We began reading the novel Esperanza Rising this week.  We will read chapters 1-3 and complete corresponding questions in the packet.  You will probably see some homework for Esperanza Rising this week. 

English: Shurley p. 11-12 together and independently. Editing a friendly letter and pattern 1

Math: Benchmark and STAR test. Lessons 31-34  

Science: Ch. 3 Body systems review. TEST Thursday

Social Studies: The Age of Exploration Lesson 2-4. Ch 3 Test NEXT Thursday
