Week of: March 26-March 29

Welcome Back!!! I sure hope everyone enjoyed their spring break with family and friends.  I sure did!  We are in the fourth quarter of our school year.  Wowzers! Time sure does fly!  My students are currently rocking 5th grade! Congrats to them for winning the National Lutheran Schools Accelerated Reader Challenge!  What a HUGE accomplishment!  This quarter you can expect us to buckle down and get reader for (gulp) 6th grade.  I can’t even believe they are almost 6th graders!!!  We will have standardized testing the week of April 23.  Please check to make sure you don’t have any scheduling conflicts that week.  Remember, we will NOT have school this Friday in honor of Good Friday. Thank you Jesus for giving your life for us!  Summer Break is on the horizon; hang in there and finish strong! 🙂

Reading: Poetry Unit/  We will hang out with poetry for the next few weeks.  Currently we are reviewing figurative language and exploring poetry for examples of its use.  We will use mentor texts throughout our study.

Math: Test Monday- Review LCM, GCF, Prime/Composite GAME: Lesson 87-89

Social Studies: Ch. 9 The American Revolution (Be on the lookout for country project details coming home this week!)

Science: Ch. 9 Earth’s Changing Surface
