In this day and age you hear a lot of new buzz words regarding education and academics. No Child Left Behind (NCLB), evidence-based education, accountability, and proficient are just a few. All of this new jargon and educational strategies are in place to make sure that teachers and schools are doing their jobs, and that all children are learning.
This is something that First Lutheran School has been doing for over 150 years. In a Christian and family oriented environment, our teachers mold and shape our students. Through a carefully planned curriculum First Lutheran School provides a foundation for future success.
A lot of emphasis has been placed on testing and test scores since the implementation of NCLB. Student achievement at First Lutheran School has been a focal point for our students since our inception. High expectations and a dedicated faculty push individual class test scores at FLS as high as the 99th percentile. This means that classes at First Lutheran scored better than 99% of other classes in the United States.
